On the wrong side of history
The U.S.'s major gun lobby, the National Rifle Association, has taken a militant stand in the current debate over gun control. Since the senseless killing of 20 six and seven-year-olds and six of their teachers in Connecticut, the NRA has doubled down with a call for more, not fewer, guns. I firmly believe they're on the wrong side of history this time.

Crazy
From the MSNBC web site: On NBC’s Meet the Press, National Rifle Association chief Wayne LaPierre on Sunday (Dec. 23) refused to support new gun control legislation and maintained his support for putting armed guards and police in schools in response to the Dec. 14 school shootings in Newtown, Conn.
“If it’s crazy to call for putting police in and securing our schools to protect our children, then call me crazy,” LaPierre told NBC’s David Gregory.
As mama always said, "If the shoe fits, wear it."
