Faces

All youth are beautiful, from babies to young adults; they shine with hope and innocence. But their beauty is shallow, it hasn't been tested by hardship and someday will likely fade. What then? If we're lucky, our faces become interesting. Interesting is conferred by time, by coping with disappointment and the loss of loved ones. It's an inner strength that shines through the skin, undiminished by wrinkles and grey hair.
