I admit I don't often photograph the grand city churches or the mega churches. I'm drawn to the Gothic revival, carpenter-gothic buildings and the eclectic structures of small, mostly rural, mostly poor, mostly fundamentalist congregations. Or to anything that is out of the ordinary. And here in Appalachia we have many such structures to draw from.
Your churches look like no church I've ever seen anywhere else. there's such a stark simplicity to them, no fancy bits anywhere.

DeleteMy ancestors (Storie) came from Little Crab. Hard working farming people who lived several generation in Fentress county. Love the little church.
