Pleasant Hill is considered to be a "western" Shaker village, since at the time it was founded Kentucky was the western frontier. The other western Shaker villages were South Union (KY), Union (OH), North Union (OH), Whitewater (OH), Watervliet (OH), and Busro (IN). The Shakers never made it further west than Indiana
It amazes me how many Shaker Villages there are in the East.
