We made a quick trip to Knoxville on Sunday. Along Pellissippi Parkway coming home, the millions of daffodils were starting to give way to the redbuds (
Cercis canadensis L.). These shrubs/small trees are native to eastern North America, but also are widely planted as ornamentals. Their color, along with the Cumberland Escarpment in the distant haze, formed a proper welcome for the short trip home.
Thanks for sharing the beauty of your state. Beautiful colours.
