Picking Blueberries

We went blueberry picking over the weekend. It was a beautiful day, 75 degrees with a light breeze and low humidity. Perfect weather for being out, and since the blueberry farm was open for the first day of the season, picking was unusually easy.

My lady friends went straight to the task while I documented the outing.

If you're three, there is a rhythm to picking: one in the bucket, two in the mouth, one in the bucket, three in the mouth ...

"And the problem with that is?"

  1. The same rhythm of picking works just as well for 59-year-olds! Some things that you learn when you're young just stay with you for the rest of your life.

  3. What a cutie pie!
This is really sad, but I didn't know blueberries grew on trees. I thought they were like blackberries. Live and learn.
Are the ones you pick any better than what the grocery has? They must be.

    1. Yes, and no. Sometimes the ones in the grocery are quite good. It really depends on where they come from. But the ones you pick are fresher and a whole lot cheaper!

    1. You will be able to vicariously enjoy being three again in a couple of years when your own granddaughter reaches that age. It's really more fun the second time around!
